President

Heather Ten Broeck, RDH, BSDH
Heather Ten Broeck, RDH, BSDH, is your newly appointed 2017-2018 President of the Howard County Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Heather earned her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Ferris State University (Big Rapids, Michigan) in 2010.
Heather was born in the small town of Kingsford, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Following graduation, she relocated to Northern Virginia for employment with a temporary placement agency. Although still a mid-western girl at heart, she has resided in the area ever since.
Heather is currently practicing dental hygiene at Crafton Dental in Columbia, Maryland.  Aside from her day to day job, Heather places emphasis on community dentistry and education, from local clinics to mission trips across the world. She aspires to achieve her Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkin’s University.
Heather and her husband currently reside in Gamber, Maryland with their two cats and two dogs. Together they enjoy traveling, DIY home projects, and riding bikes.

Rachael Dorn, RDH, MSDH
Rachael C. Dorn, RDH, MSDH was the 2016-2017 President of the Howard County Dental Hygienists’ Association.
Rachael received her Baccalaureate degree in Dental Hygiene from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2013 and is currently enrolled in her final class at Old Dominion University. She will be receiving her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene education and research and a Certificate in global health, December 2016. Originally, Rachael graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 2006 and is a proud alumnus.
Rachael has ten years of private practice experience working in a small practice in Nottingham, Maryland. Rachael attributes her strong leadership qualities, thorough dental hygiene practices and sound moral and ethical judgement to her previous employer, Andersan Bloomer. In addition, she has two years of public health dentistry experience working with children in Baltimore city providing care via mobile dentistry.
Rachael is most proud of her marriage to her husband, Joe and raising her two beautiful children, Bella and Cooper. Her hope is to instill the strong value of education and leadership to her children and to lead by example by being an excellent role model. You can most likely find her on the soccer field or baseball field cheering for her son or on the sidelines coaching cheerleading with her daughter. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her wonderful parents and her two dogs.

Sabrina LeBon, RDH, BSDH
Sabrina LeBon, RDH, BSDH is a Howard County native. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2017. While in school, Sabrina was actively involved in SADHA as the community service chair.
Sabrina currently works part-time at a pediatric office in Columbia and a general practice in Catonsville. She enjoys being outdoors, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.

Dollie Herr, RDH
Dollie Herr, RDH earned her degree in dental hygiene from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Dollie spent the majority of her career in Public Health, serving underserved populations. After raising her family in Michigan, Dollie relocated to Maryland in 2010 to work in private practice. She currently works full time for Dr. Marc Star in Ellicott City.
When she relocated to Maryland in 2010 she returned to private practice.  She currently works full-time in Ellicott City with Dr. Marc Star.

Hospitality Chair

Joanne Turgeon, MSDH, MA-HCA
Joanne Turgeon, MSDH, MA-HCA graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School, Dental Hygiene Program with a Bachelors Degree, followed with a Masters Degree from the University of Maryland, University College in Administration, with a focus on Health Care Administration.
She has worked in private practice for 29 years ,with half of those years spent in periodontics. The remaining years have been spent in hospital, special needs and pedodontic practices.
Joanne’s lifelong dream is to work as a missionary in third world countries. Thankfully, she’s been able to do just that for the past 15 years. Each fall, Joanne travels to El Salvador, where she directs a dental team as part of the Helping Hands Medical Missions Organization.
In addition, Joanne is one of the founding faculty members of the Dental Hygiene program at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. It is here that she continues to work as Senior Clinical Instructor.

Community Oral Health

Maura Ordovensky, RDH, BSDH
After serving two years as the Howard County Dental Hygienists’ Association President, Maura Ordovensky, RDH, BSDH has dedicated more than ten years as the Community Service Chair.
Maura is currently an adjunct faculty at Howard Community College, teaching Anatomy and Physiology.
More than twenty five years in the dental career has included positions in: management, public health, education, and private practice.  Maura enjoys presenting continuing education courses.
Outside of her professional life, Maura is busy with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys many outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, and horseback riding.
